I am a first-generation Portuguese American, born and raised in West Hartford in a loving, traditional Portuguese household with my parents and older brother. Weekends were always spent surrounded by our extended family, and summers were spent in Portugal — a place that continues to hold a very special piece of my heart. Family has always been incredibly important to me, and while life has gotten busy with kids, sports, and schedules, my extended family continues to be an essential part of who I am.
I joined the Carlson ProCare team in March of 2025, but the company has been part of my life for many years. They’ve supported me through many different stages and milestones, and over time, the team has truly become a second family to me.
I’m particularly inspired by helping patients navigate the complicated and ever-changing world of insurance. I enjoy breaking down policies and benefits so that patients can better understand their coverage and feel more confident as they begin their physical therapy journey. I also take pride in helping patients get fully set up for their treatment plans — making sure they feel informed, supported, and reassured that things can always be adjusted as needed.
Being part of researching, learning, and implementing new processes to improve efficiency company-wide has also been incredibly rewarding. Evolving with today’s technology and contributing to positive change has been an exciting part of my experience at Carlson ProCare.
What I love most about the team here is the people. Management is thoughtful in their hiring and focuses on finding individuals who truly fit our culture — not just filling a position. That intention creates a positive, energetic, and collaborative environment where we all feed off one another in the best way. It makes the clinic a place where both staff and patients feel welcomed and supported.
What motivates me most is knowing that our management team genuinely has our backs. They listen, care, and support us, and I know I can count on my coworkers for help at any time. We work as a true team — when one person succeeds, we all succeed; when someone needs support, we all step in. That sense of unity makes difficult days feel much more manageable.
Outside of work, the number one joy in my life — without a doubt — is being a mom. I am beyond blessed to have two beautiful daughters, and everything I do is for them. They are my world. My second great love is Portugal. I’m deeply proud of my heritage, and my daughters and I look forward to our trips “home” all year long. Anything and everything related to Portugal brings me immense happiness.
